Accidentally On Purpose: The Tweet Up

So, I breeze back into town after four days of driving. A normal, sane, stable person would go upstairs and take a nap. What did I do? I get back in the car for a fun-filled afternoon of driving through LA traffic.

Wee.
But it was so worth the drive!! Last Friday night, a very lucky group of bloggers (yours truly included) were part of the first official Tweet Up on the set of any TV show anywhere! We "accidentally" got there super late... but it wasn't "on purpose" though. It was all that traffic! Thankfully, they let us in.
Accidentally On Purpose stars Jenna Elfman, one of my fave comediennes. Loved her as Dharma from Dharma and Greg. I kinda scared her when I got all crazy-eyed and cooed that to her right in her ear. Anyhoo... the new sitcom is based on the bestselling memoir by Mary F. Pols, is a comedy about a single woman, Billie, who finds herself "accidentally" pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby...and the guy. Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James, who's still trying to resume their relationship. Pregnant, after a brief fling with her "boy toy" Zack, Billie and Zack make an arrangement to live together platonically. Billie's party girl best friend Olivia, and Abby, her more conventional married sister offer their own brands of advice and encouragement. Then  Zack and his freeloading friends, including Davis (we call him "the pot smoker dude"), start to turn her place into a frat house, and Billie isn't sure if she's living with a boyfriend, a roommate, or if she just has another child to raise.
We were on set while they were filming... like ON SET in the uber-chic (albeit imaginary) San Francisco apartment and coffee shop of the show. I kept trying to stay out of the way of the cameras and grips, but still managed to be right where they needed to be every time. There's a really loud bell that rings telling everyone on set that it's time to shut up and be quiet, but that silence just seemed to bring out the sillies and giggles. I wished that I could go back and undrink the RockStar that Hip Mom made me drink. Once, when I was finally able to control myself, Jenna kept talking and I was like, oh no... we are in sooo much trouble! But she's the star, so we were okay, right? At one point I joked about eating a donut off the set where the characters had their prenatal classes. Someone must've heard so they came to kindly tell us that, while they hoped we were having a great time, we should know that the sets were "hot" and not to touch anything. Like I was really gonna eat a donut! Okay, well... I might have eventually taken one.
There were a lot of funny lines and moments that many mothers-to-be could empathize with, including a scene with an obnoxious, know-it-all barista. There were also some really random moments that I almost wish had been part of any of my pregnancies. I can't repeat any of the lines or scenes before they actually air (should've told me BEFORE I tweeted from the set), but you CAN see some very funny clips here
Here are some fun shots of the bloggers invading the set.
