I was going to watch the series with my son and then tell you all about it.
That was the plan.
But when I suggested we watch Race to Edge, the animated series based on the How to Train Your Dragon movies, he sheepishly admitted that he had already binge watched them all.
While I still plan to watch the series with him, I figured I'd ask him some questions before we snuggled up under a blanket with some popcorn and sweet treats.
Here were his thoughts:
ME: What did you think about the How to Train Your Dragon movies?
SON: They have a solid story line and cool characters, and didn't throw logic out the window.
ME: Wait... there were flying dragons. How does that not throw logic out the window?
SON: It didn't break the laws of physics.
ME: Ahhh. What do you think about the series on Netflix?
SON: I like how Race to The Edge expands the universe and gives us insight to the characters, dragons, and culture of their world. The jokes were very funny, and represented the characters saying them well.
ME: Who are your favorite dragon riders?
SON: They are all such well rounded characters I'm not sure I can decide. But out of all of them, I like Hiccup most. He's the best at flying, smartest, and bravest.
ME: I think Hiccup is pretty compassionate, too, don't you?
SON: I think I should have used that word. I think if you see a caring creature in something that everyone else thinks is a demonic beast, you must be pretty compassionate.
ME: If you were a kid in Berk, what would your dragon look like?
SON: A dragon with ability to change colors. Cute, but deadly. lightning shooting, and very aerodynamic.
That's my son... cute, but deadly.
If you haven't already watched it, check out the animated series Dragons: Race to the Edge on Netflix with your little Dragon Rider!
