It’s so Orange County to get some work done, isn’t it? A nip here... a tuck there... plump, suck, cut, lift... and voila! A younger, fresher face to show to the world! Well, an old Orange County favorite recently had some amazing work done and the results are FABULOUS!Read More
For the last several years, The Joneses have celebrated New York New Year's. We don't actually go to New York. What we do is celebrate on New York time, which is a not-too-late hour of 9PM on the West Coast. We've done this because our kids were too young to stay up all night without melting down. So by 9:30, we have dinner and ring in the New Year, usually with another family with little ones, and by 10PM, we're all heading to our respective beds.
But now that they're getting older and mostly beyond the meltdown stuff, it might be time for Mr. and Mrs. Jones to go out on New Year's Eve again. We wanted to go some place that we could ALL have fun and where we wouldn't be bored. Where did we decide on? The Joneses will be ringing in the New Year as a family at one of my all-time favorite family hangouts:
Knott's Berry Farm!
Knott's Berry Farm on New Year's Eve
Knott's Berry Farm will have something for all of us this New Year's Eve. There will be all kinds of dancing and music (including an Elton John tribute band), a family-friendly comedian/magician, "Snoopy on Ice" ice skating show, and of course, all the rides and attractions that my kids and I have come to love. Knott's Merry Farm will still be in full swing, which means the sparkly lights will be in full glow, making the evening merry and bright. Somewhere between all the fun and walking under sparkly lights, we'll have to tear ourselves away for a delicious dinner of succulent fried chicken and pie at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
Even though my kids are older, they're not too old for the Peanuts Gang, so we'll definitely be at Camp Snoopy for the special performance by Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang at the Camp Snoopy Theater. There, the Peanuts Gang will ring in the New Year with song and dance and some fun with the audience. At midnight, all eyes will be looking above Calico Square for the Midnight Mayhem fireworks show.
Special New Year's Eve Rates at Knott's Hotel
After all that fun and excitement, we'll be heading off to bed at Knott's Hotel right next door. What a way to end the year and begin a New Year with the family, huh?
Can't wait to go out on New Year's Eve again!
