Hello, Sweet Lifer! Did you doodle or do something that makes you happy this week? I hope so!
I had a totally different post prepared for today, but once I saw this thing that I'm going to show you, I had to put that other one on hold. I'm in Milwaukee, WI today at Harley-Davidson Headquarters for a very special BlogHer event. At our meet and greet dinner this evening, we were given our event badges. As soon as I read the phrase, I knew I had to post it up here on LTSL Sunday:
The timing of getting the badges and reading these words was so perfect because I had just been talking with a couple of other bloggers about why we got started blogging. I had a blog called Living - In Theory. The premise was that we are all alive, but so many of us are merely existing, not really actively participating in this amazing thing we called life. I know that was my situation. I was frustrated with where I was and decided that I was going to change things.
And change they did!
You've seen the YOLO floating around, right? Well, if you haven't, YOLO is the new Carpe Diem. It stands for You Only Live Once. Now, while some people are concerned that our youth are taking it to an irresponsible extreme, I have to say that I'm glad this is catching on. It's true. You DO only live once!! What you do with that one go-round is up to you. You can point to people and circumstances for why you aren't doing what you really want to do, but at the end of the day, you make your own decisions. You create your own story.
You are on your own ride!
So tell me... what amazing things are you doing to actively participate in your one and only life?
Full post on my trip to Harley-Davidson later. For now, I have to disclose to you that Harley-Davidson and BlogHer are compensating me for my participation in this event. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it.
